Let’s Start Off with the Basics:

How do Pack Up + Go Outdoors Road Trips work?

Our Pack Up + Go Outdoors Trips are most similar to our traditional Road Trips, with a few key differences.

The main difference between a traditional Road Trip and Pack Up + Go Outdoors Trip is the focus on the recommended things to do in your destination. Our typical Road Trips will send you to a more metropolitan destination and include recommendations based within the city. A Pack Up + Go Outdoors Trip will offer recommendations that are much more outdoor-focused and off-the-beaten-path. Additionally your accommodations for a Pack Up + Go Outdoors Trip will be something like a “glamping” situation, a cabin, or a bed and breakfast, while a traditional Road Trip's accommodations will be a hotel or bed and breakfast in the city center.

One week before your departure date, you will receive an email with a weather report and finalized packing list, so you know exactly how to prepare for your trip. You will also receive your surprise envelope in the mail a few days before your trip, which you should open on the day of your departure to find out your Surprise Destination!

How much do Pack Up + Go Outdoors Road Trips cost?

A Pack Up + Go Outdoors Trip starts at $500/per night, with a minimum of 2-nights per Trip. When booking your Pack Up + Go Outdoors Trip, you will have the option to rent a car in case you do not have, or do not want to bring, a car of your own! Please keep in mind that this rental car reservation will not be prepaid and is not included in your Trip Budget. You will also have the option to add Peace of Mind Refund Assurance to your trip. This optional add-on costs 10% of your total Trip Budget.

Will I be camping on an Outdoors Road Trip?

For Pack Up + Go Outdoors trips, you will not be camping in the traditional sense! You will not be required to bring your own tent or sleeping equipment, but if you stay in a glamping or cabin accommodation, you may be required to bring your own linens, snacks, or kitchen supplies. If you have specific requests for your accommodation type, please let us know on the Pre-Trip Survey and our team is happy to find you the perfect place to stay. Please keep in mind that since glamping accommodations tend to be more outdoorsy, they may not be available during the winter in parts of the country that experience colder temperatures.

Can I stay socially distant from others while on an Outdoors Road Trip?

Yes! Pack Up + Go Outdoors Trips are inherently more socially distant than our other Trip Types because the activities we recommend you do will be outdoors-focused. On the Pre-Trip Survey, please let us know if you wish to avoid group tours or stay in an accommodation where you may interact with many people. Our top priority is making sure you can travel safely and comfortably!

Now, the fun stuff:

I am not very experienced in outdoor adventure. Can I still go on a Pack Up + Go Outdoors Trip?

Yes! On the Pre-Trip Survey, we will ask "What is your outdoor adventure level?” , where you can let us know your experience level.

If there is any other specific information you would like our team to know for planning your curated recommendations, you can let us know in the "anything else we need to know," section of the Pre-Trip Survey. You can let us know if you have a fear of heights, prefer only low-incline hikes, or are looking for some paved hiking trails rather than heading up a mountain.

We want this trip to be tailored to your interests and preferences, so please don't hold back when you let us know how you like to spend your time outdoors.
